Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas Walks Out on Cancer

Today at 12:15 pm people stood up, chairs were pushed in, emails were left unanswered and all of us here at Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas made the choice to walk out on cancer.

For just a few minutes in our crazy day we took a time out to recognize those who are fighting and those whose fight has ended too soon against the ugly disease.

According to the American Cancer Society, 124,740 new cancer cases will be diagnosed in 2017. According to research being active helps reduce cancer risk by helping with weight control, improving hormone levels and advancing the immune system. Adults should be getting at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity each week. The walk out is intended to promote activity.

For the first time this year Van Kirk & Sons is sponsoring a local Relay for Life event. On April 1, 2017 we will join hundreds of people from our community at Relay For Life of Parkland to raise funds and awareness. We will be surrounded by survivors, their friends, and their families. Join us!
