“Words cannot describe how happy I am we chose Van Kirk to build our pool. Although they are a big builder, it never felt that way. We always felt as if ours was the only pool they were building. On my friend Larry’s recommendation (who is a GC), I called them after meeting with five other pool builders. I learned so much doing research after meeting with each pool builder, that by the time I met with Bobby Van Kirk, I was able to see the differences of their company. I had my pool design mostly figured out, but am thankful I made changes suggested by Bobby, including increasing the spa to 8′, wall design and finish materials to name a few. I would strongly recommend meeting with other pool builders first and visiting their office too, so you will see the difference between the builders. We noticed this from our first visit. “We Could Not Be More Pleased With The Final Product. Van Kirk & Sons, Inc. built our pool and spa during the construction of our new home in 2006. Our builder told me that in all his years as a home builder, he would use no other pool designer than Steve Schwartz at Van Kirk Pools. As a General Contractor myself, a Building Official and Director of Building and Zoning for a local municipality I doubt that my background and knowledge make me an average customer. During our visit to the Van Kirk facility, Steve Schwartz showed my wife and I everything from their offices, warehouse, to their production yard. I was very impressed to see that they make their own pavers, copings and rock features. Steve explained by manufacturing them in house they could control quality, availability and a perfect match in colors offered. We ended our tour by their indoor pool where you were able to see all of the different accessories, features, pavers and tiles that are offered. Steve did a fantastic job helping us design our pool. He explained how to best lay out the pool and patio, to take best advantage of our backyard and the views from our yard and how to tie it all into the rear of the house. We could not be more pleased with the final product. During the construction of our pool it was evident that the crews were skilled and took pride in their work. Van Kirk uses the Gunite concrete process for the structural shell of their pools as opposed to Shotcrete. Gunite is more expensive and superior to Shotcrete. As an old concrete guy I took great pleasure watching these craftsmen work their magic. In the three years of owning our pool we have needed service a couple of times. To me it’s less important than you have a problem, but more important how you handle a problem. Each time Van Kirk has fixed the problem quickly and professionally to our complete satisfaction. With my 35 years in the South Florida Construction Industry I without any hesitation recommend Van Kirk & Sons and Steve Schwartz for all your pool needs. “Top Notch Professional Job. After weathering both Wilma and Katrina storms, it was time to renew and revitalize my pool area and backyard. Having decided to forgo the screen enclosure, I wanted to create an extension to my home that provided a living space where people could gather as well as make better use of the pool. In addition to creating additional space around the pool, there was also a need to address drainage problems from which the patio area had suffered for years. During our recent visit we spent quite a bit of time enjoying the pool and its surroundings and found ourselves very relaxed. The hardscape gives the home a fresh new look, from the matching stone driveway, main walkway and side walkway leading up to the oasis that was created in the back yard. Also, the quality of the work is outstanding. I believe that the installation is now over two years old and it shows as new. Having worked in the construction industry for the past 27 years, I must also comment on the overall level of craftsmanship. The mechanical equipment is neatly installed and labeled as it should. I initially got three quotes from three different companies- My sales representative Eric was top notch, very informative and knew everything about pools and just made me feel way more comfortable than the other two companies did. His wife was also a major part of our great experience. No hard sales tactics either. Their design and price spoke for itself there was no need for pressure sales tactics . Van Kirk gave me the most for the money by FAR. They made our waterfall look like it came from Tennessee. The fire bowls are incredible. The finishings are perfect. I have an eye for perfection and I can’t find any mistakes or blemishes at all. There staff went above and beyond my expectations. It also makes you feel good that when you’re dealing with a company of there size that you still see the owner walking around the facility and his sons working etc. I was emailing back-and-forth with Robert Van Kirk. I thought that was great. Most big companies you deal with workers and never see owners etc. they did a great job I have no complaints they did exactly what they said. Every worker they sent to my house was so respectful nice and courteous. They were very clean also. Ive heard horror stories about your backyard will look like a bomb went off When building a pool, but that was not the case with my pool. Carl the supervisor was a great person- very kind and friendly. The guys who built the rocks where also super friendly and very very respectful. Over all it was a amazing process and I’m very happy and exciting for our new pool. I wish I could attach photos to this review. Good Job Van Kirk I will recommend you guys always.”

“Very happy with the pool. I was warned about the stress and challenges of having a pool built. I am an engineer and have a background in the construction industry, so I have some understanding of the construction practices of building a pool. I was happy with the quality of all aspects of the build. I was frustrated at times with communication and progress. It was difficult to get in touch with various persons, however, everyone was always courteous, and always had the information I was looking for. Just hard to get in touch with at times. During start-up and final inspections, the communications were perfect. I chose Van Kirk because I was told they were the best. I feel I paid more, but in the end, I got exactly the pool I wanted and well built. I should mention, I came to Van Kirk with a design , but asked for recommendations on how to improve. The designer came back with a much better design. The design was super patient thru several what-ifs and iterations.”
