Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas Sponsor “A Concert Salute to Our Veterans for Legends Radio”

Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas were so happy to sponsor a terrific event “A Concert Salute to Our Veterans” for Legends Radio this past weekend as American Pop Icon and Songwriter from the 50’s and 60’s Connie Francis graced the stage once again as a tribute to our veterans. According to numerous sources Connie Francis began performing as early as 1968 during the Vietnam War. “I have never in my life felt more needed before or since,” says Francis in a 2013 interview with Mark Voger of NJ Advanced Media for NJ.com. She continues to say “I collected the names of more than 500 soldiers, to deliver their messages home. When I got back, I called 10 or 20 families a day to deliver their messages. Because in those days, there were no cell phones, no internet, no nothing.” According to the same article, Connie continued to tour, visit and develop ways to assist veterans and current servicemen throughout her career.

Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas a few months ago has partnered with Legends Radio and when we heard of the opportunity to help with the event, we were more than excited to jump at it. Marketing Director for Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas Jonathan Schulter says “They came to me with this opportunity and it’s just a great way to really thank our veterans and current servicemen. We couldn’t be happier to be a sponsor of this terrific gathering.” The event brought together thousands of residents, mixed with veterans and servicemen as Connie Francis, along with others, provided a concert and some comedic entertainment to the people. “Everyone had such a great time at the event, and everyone who went really deserve it. The veterans and current servicemen really deserve this, we were just glad we could help.” Says Jonathan.
