Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas Sponsors Red Meat Lovers Club Event Benefitting: The George Snow Scholarship Fund in Boca Raton!
An amazing night of team bowling kicked off in Boca Raton as Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas team members and more sponsored and donated at the event Strikes, Steaks & Stogies as a Red Meat Lovers Club event was held benefitting: The George Snow Scholarship Fund! Amazing food, fun, cigars and best of all, donations were all featured! The event had a terrific turnout as both Red Meat Lovers Club Members and scholarship award winners and students were on hand to give thanks to what is an incredibly thoughtful and lifechanging gift to students!
The event benefitted the George Snow Scholarship Fund. According to their website, The George Snow Scholarship Fund is dedicated to helping deserving students within the South Florida community achieve their career goals through their pursuit of higher education. By providing financial assistance and a host of supplementary support services, they ensure that their scholarship recipients have the resources they need to thrive academically. Their goal is to ensure that no student is deprived of an education because of a shortage of funds or a lack of support. Their website goes on to say that the fund was established in 1982 as a memorial to George Snow, a Boca Raton developer who lost his life in a helicopter accident in 1980. Mr. Snow moved to Boca Raton in 1958 to take a position as a high school math teacher at what is now Atlantic High School in Delray Beach. Since its inception, the Fund has awarded over 12 million dollars in educational grants. In the year 2019 alone, the Scholarship Fund awarded over $1,400,000 in scholarships and scholars support services to 150 Snow Scholars. This level of support places the Fund as one of Palm Beach County’s largest sources of educational grants.
On rmlclub.com website, The Red Meat Lover’s Club was established at Tulane University by Evan Darnell, AKA “The Secretary of Steak” around 1994. Evan took his beloved club out of hibernation and re-established the club here in the South Florida area when he moved in 2017! Monthly “meatings” and events are held to business network, but primarily benefit local and national charities, as well as works of good deeds!
