Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas Employee Sponsors and Donates to Jack & Jill Children’s Center Event Bowl For Change!

Van Kirk & Sons Pools & Spas Employee Dave Ross donated his time and resources benefitting Jack & Jill Children’s Center this past Saturday at a Bowl For Change event in Fort Lauderdale. The event was setup by Chelsea Wagner of the Jack & Jill Children’s Center and the turnout they say was extraordinary. “It was great to really see this terrific turnout we had!” Dave says. “For people to come out on what was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and just have some fun bowling, and as your having that fun, it’s making a difference, that’s huge!” Family and friends of Dave came out to show support while the bowling was icing on the cake. The event was part of the “Change the Odds” Campaign, a peer-to-peer fundraising effort to raise $25,000 in scholarships for the children at Jack & Jill Children’s Center.

According to their website, The Jack & Jill Children’s Center was founded in 1942 by the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale. They started as a day-care for women who needed to enter the workforce when their husbands went to war. They are the oldest nonprofit provider of early childhood education in Broward county. It now acts as a school for children of high-need working families, fighting to break the cycle of poverty in South Florida. They strive to achieve their mission by focusing on both the child and the family unit as a whole, offering family strengthening programs so that the entire household, children and parents alike benefit. “This was a great event to just have fun, go bowling and while having fun you are helping children and families here in Broward County what could be better?
